I have set myself an ambitions challenge, to swim 22 miles by the end of June 2023.

In need of motivation to take more exercise, I thought having a goal to aim for would be a good idea. Then I saw a friend had signed up to complete the Diabetes Swim22 Challenge, and that seemed like the ideal option.

The only problem is I have left it a little late, and so now I have a month less in which to achieve the target! Anyway, I am giving it a go.

Weekly target

Joanne Parker

Fresh from the pool!

My local pool is 25m, which means a mile is roughly 64 lengths. I need to be doing around 160 lengths a week to hit my target. I am a little way off that at the moment but hopefully I will be able to build up in the coming weeks.

I have always enjoyed swimming and I have done a few challenges before – but not for about 15 years!! Needless to say, I am rather less fit than I was then.

Nothing good ever happens if you stay in your comfort zone

I do believe that you need to push yourself in any aspect of life or business if you want to achieve good things, and so this challenge should be good for motivating me to take more exercise, increase my energy levels and raising money for a great cause.

If you could find your way to sponsoring me, I would be very grateful. Thank you for your support>
